When it comes to winter health, nuts are a great choice. Nuts not only replenish energy and calories, but also vitamins and other nutrients. Most importantly, they are also delicious, crispy and delicious! According to a recent study published in the American Heart Association's Journal of Circulation Research, eating nuts can also reduce a risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Chen Zengxi, Researchers at Harvard University's, School of Public Health and other institutions used the questionnaire to collect more than 16,000 subjects who took peanuts and woody nuts before and after diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. According to the follow-up survey, 3336 cases of cardiovascular disease occurred in these subjects, of which 1663 died of cardiovascular disease.

The researchers found, compared with those who only took 28 grams of nuts per month, the type 2 diabetes patients took a total of 140 grams of nuts or more, the total incidence of cardiovascular disease was 17% reduction, the risk of coronary heart disease is 20% reduction, and a 34% reduction in the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. In addition, those who increased nut intake had a 11% lower risk of cardiovascular disease, a 15% lower risk of coronary heart disease, and a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease than those who did not change their nut intake habits after diagnosis of diabetes.

The researchers also found that the association between eating more nuts and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes was not related to gender, weight or smoking.

The researchers said that the biological mechanisms by which nuts benefit the heart are unclear, perhaps because nuts can improve glycemic control, blood pressure and fat metabolism. The study also pointed out that although eating all kinds of nuts can bring benefits to the heart, compared with peanuts belonging to legumes and fruits growing underground, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts and pine nuts and other woody nuts are more relevant with lowering the risk of vascular disease.

Although nut nutrition is good, but the heat can be unambiguous, just pick up half a bag of melon seeds, you may eat the heat of a meal. Of course, there are some taboos for eating nuts. For your own health and family, take a quick look!

1、chestnuts

Chestnuts contain very good dietary fiber, so even diabetics can eat it in moderation. However, chestnuts are difficult to digest, and cooked food is easy to stagnate. Therefore, the right amount is the most important.

2、sunflower seeds

Sunflower seeds are rich in vitamins, etc. Eating a sunflower seed every day can satisfy the vitamin E needed for the day. In addition, sunflower seeds have a role in preventing coronary heart disease, stroke, lowering blood pressure, and protecting blood vessel elasticity. However, because the seeds contain a certain amount of sugar, diabetic patients should be cautious.

3、Pistachio

Pistachios are not easily spoiled, but they are not stored for too long. In addition, pistachios contain more fat, and people who are obese and have high blood lipids should eat less.

4, sweet almonds

Sweet almonds contain 50% fat, 25% protein, 10% carbohydrates and vitamin E and calcium, magnesium, boron, potassium and other elements.

In patients with coronary heart disease who eat almonds, the incidence of angina is 50% lower than that of non-feeders. Almonds have the effect of regulating insulin and blood sugar levels, and are one of the therapeutic products for impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes. Almonds are rich in boron and calcium, which is also beneficial for preventing osteoporosis in menopausal women.
