Nitrotetrazolium blue chloride, is a yellow powder, easy to absorb moisture, soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, insoluble in ether. Dehydrogenase and other peroxidase substrates. It is used to determine glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; it is also a precipitation reagent for fibrinogen. Also one of the alkaline phosphatase substrates, an insoluble blue product is formed under the catalysis of alkaline phosphatase. It is commonly used in immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry (ICC) and Western blot (WB) experiments.
