Application Research on Polymer Conductive Materials

2019-05-27 来源:亚科官网

How are polymer conductive materials discovered? This is going back to 2000. The Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry, Heeger, MacDiarmid, and Shirakawa, the three scientists in Japan, have proved through research that everyone usually thinks that the insulating polymer material is certain. It is also possible to have electrical conductivity under the conditions. Since then, the emerging discipline of conductive polymer materials has grown rapidly and has become an important part of the research of materials science. So what impact does polymer conductive materials have on our lives?
1. Display materials
Since the electroconductive synthetic conductive polymer material has a special property, a color change can occur during the electrochemical doping process, and thus it can be used as a color changing device. The electrochemical reaction of such polymeric materials is reversible, that is, dedoping and redoping can be achieved electrochemically. After electrochemical doping, the electrochemical polymer material can become an insulator and can be used to form a conductor after oxidative doping.
The conductivity of the material will vary due to the degree of doping and dedoping. Therefore, the conductive polymer material can be changed between the conductor, the semiconductor, and the insulator depending on the amount of electricity that is controlled. The change in conductivity of different types of materials corresponds to different optical properties, so the display material can be made according to this principle. This color-changing functional polymer material is also widely used in life, such as: energy-saving glass coating, display components, instrumentation, etc.
2. Battery
Reversible electrochemical reaction and reduction characteristics are an important feature of conductive polymers, and their density is much smaller than other conductive materials, and has high conductivity and large specific surface area at room temperature. This is a very good electrode material for batteries. For example, due to the high doping and strong stability of polypyrrole and the very sensitive nature of changes in electrical information, polypyrrole can be used in conventional textiles to make it an electrical conductor.
A secondary battery made of a conductive polymer material is characterized by ease of production, processing, film formation, flexibility, small size, light weight, and high energy. If the durability of the organic substance and the stability of the organic solvent under high pressure are solved, the secondary battery can be commercialized based on the conductive polymer material.
3. The conductor
The conductive polymer material can be prepared by filling and compounding, surface mixing, or the like to synthesize a conductor powder such as metal powder or carbon black and a polymer material. Compared with traditional metal conductors, composite synthetic conductive polymer materials have many advantages, easy processing, wider practical range, very low density, and strong resistance to corrosion; electrical conductivity can be based on electrochemical reversible reaction Changes, convenient for practical applications; materials are relatively cheap, suitable for large-scale production.
Conductive polymers have many advantages as supercapacitor electrodes, such as extremely high flexibility, high electrical conductivity, easy processing, and film formation. Many conductive polymer materials exhibit high specific capacity and capacitance, and can transfer energy at high relative speeds, but it also has a serious drawback that the life of recycling is low.
4. Drug release
The doping and dedoping process of the conductive polymer is actually an anion insertion and deintercalation process, through which the drug can be delivered into the human body through the skin. Using these two points, a conductive polymer battery containing a drug can be produced, and when the current is turned on, the drug is released from the skin of the childbearing age and enters the blood through the skin. Polypyrrole is the first and most widely used conductive polymer in the field.
